There is debate about the coming of the Messiah. Not about the fact that he’s coming, but where he’ll come. Jerusalem? Mecca or Medina? Or the US?
If I ponder about it more, Jesus said at that time: follow me. And he was followed by his twelve disciples. In fact, one of them betrayed him, so eleven. But they, who were followers, set out for the great world and spread the doctrines. They were free to go, nothing prevented them in their way. Their conviction alone could have endangered them.
Today, masses are following the doctrines. But what would happen if the Messiah came today? What would happen if he said: follow me? After all, we have imposed a thousand obligations on ourselves, we cannot slowly leave our house! We have indebted ourselves for 40-50 years with our bank loans, and we have mortgaged ourselves by accepting the terms of payment. We cannot not follow the Messiah even with two steps!
What a fool is the man! He weaves a net around himself in which he is trapped. Have you ever seen a spider that falls prey in its own net? Surely, that would fall victim to evolution. What about men?
